Full Closure on State Route 29 (SR-29) for Culvert Work Between Rutherford, Oakville in Napa County

This map shows where traffic will be diverted during Highway 29 work in Rutherford/Oakville in Napa County. Full closures occur Feb. 25-Feb. 28 between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning

NAPA COUNTY — Caltrans has scheduled a full closure of State Route 29 (SR-29) beginning on February 25 through February 28 between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. the next mornings for culvert replacement work and road stabilization in between Rutherford and Oakville roads (south of Glos Lane) with a detour through Silverado trail.
During this stage of construction, crews will begin to remove the existing culvert and replace it with a cast in place box culvert.
Flaggers will be present and Changeable Message Signs (CMS) signs will be posted to help the traveling public.
In addition, Caltrans will have a single lane closure with reversing one-way traffic control of State Route 29 (SR-29) in effect continuously beginning at 6 a.m. on Thursday February 26 for three weeks. Crews are working a seven-day schedule, Monday through Sunday through March.
This emergency project is expected to be completed in Spring, 2026.
All work is weather dependent.
Detour SR-29 Northbound toward St. Helena/Calistoga Turn right onto Oakville Cross Road. Turn Left onto Silverado Trail Road Turn Left onto SR-128 to Rutherford to get onto SR-29
Detour SR-29 Southbound toward the city of Napa Turn left onto SR-128 in Rutherford Turn right onto Silverado Road Turn right onto Oakville Cross Road to get onto SR-29.
Drivers should expect delays and to slow down in the construction area to help crews stay safe.
