Help shape the Bay Area’s transit plan — take the survey

Caltrans Bay Area oversees more than 6,500 lane miles of highway and manages extensive transportation-related assets, including toll bridges, tunnels, bike lanes, and park-and-ride lots in the nine Bay Area counties. How this vast outlay of roads and other resources can better support transit is the focus of an online public survey that will help shape the upcoming Caltrans Bay Area Transit Plan.

The plan seeks to identify infrastructure investments that will improve access to transit, encourage its use, and augment its speed and reliability.

Take the Survey.

In several places, the survey asks participants to rank transit improvements in order of preference. (See example below.)

The survey is posted on the Caltrans website and is available in English, Spanish, and Chinese. Caltrans has developed an outreach plan through social media and project partners to promote the survey.

The public can play a critical role in shaping the Caltrans Bay Area Transit Plan by participating in the survey. Participants are urged to share the survey with other Bay Area residents.

If your group or organization would like to request a presentation on the transit plan, contact Tyler Brown at tyler.brown@dot.ca.gov

The Caltrans Bay Area Transit Plan will be the third transportation plan produced by Caltrans Bay Area, following on the heels of the Caltrans Bay Area’s Pedestrian Plan and the Bicycle Plan.
