What do you want to see in bike/pedestrian facilities?

A cyclist passes bike parking on the Napa Valley Vine trail in downtown Napa.

The Napa Valley Transportation Authority is leading the effort to create the first Countywide Active Transportation Plan. The Plan seeks to create a connected regional network of bicycle and pedestrian facilities to make Napa County a safer and more accessible community. NVTA is now seeking public input on the Plan with digital and in-person opportunities to participate.
The Plan’s newly launched website, NapaATplan.org includes an Interactive Map that makes it simple for residents to provide comments and ask questions about walking and biking infrastructure throughout Napa County.
Here’s how it works:
1) Visit the map, and zoom into the area you want to comment on.
2) At the top of the map, select what type of comment you’d like to make:
• “I Love” is for areas you think Napa County got it right, with the type of infrastructure you’d like to see more of
• “I Wish” is for changes you’d like to see made
• “I Wonder” is for transportation issues or solutions you have questions about
3) Drag the correct icon to the map, and enter your comment.
All comments and questions will be reviewed regularly by NVTA. Those who want to share more direct feedback can also use the website’s Contact Us form to email planners directly.
The Active Transportation Plan will combine elements of NVTA’s Napa Countywide Pedestrian Plan, released in 2016; and the Napa Countywide Bicycle Plan, last updated in 2019, as well as efforts by local jurisdictions to improve safety for all roadway users. Encouraging community members to walk and bike, particularly for shorter trips, has the potential to improve public health, reduce traffic, and help improve local air quality by reducing vehicle emissions.
In addition to the website, NVTA will host a series of community outreach events between February and August in 2025. A community survey is also in the works, visit NapaATPlan.org for the latest details and ways to participate.
