SR 29 Comprehensive Multimodel Corridor Plan
The SR-29 Comprehensive Multimodal Corridor Plan (2020) outlines improvements for State Route 29 through American Canyon, focused on reducing congestion; enhancing safety; and expanding transit, bicycle, and pedestrian options. The plan evaluates alternatives such as upgraded signals with transit priority, new roundabouts, safer intersections, and better bus stops, with an implementation horizon through 2040. This project is important because SR-29 is the main north–south artery of Napa Valley, and the improvements will support regional mobility, economic vitality, and California’s climate goals.

SR 29 Comprehensive Multimodal Corridor Plan (CMCP) Update
Napa Valley Transportation Authority (NVTA) is updating it’s SR 29 CMCP. The previous CMCP adopted in 2020 has been a critical document demonstrating the need and helping secure funding for projects such as Soscol Interchange at SR 29 and SR 221, SR 29 Corridor Improvements in American Canyon, and the new Bus Maintenance Facility at Sheehy Ct. Plans require regular updates to reflect changes on the ground and evolving policy, and it is time for the CMCP to undergo an update. This update will include new data, re-assessing the needs along the corridor, and updating the suite of projects. This will set NVTA up for the next round of planning for and constructing projects along SR 29 to help improve safety, mobility, and accessibility along the corridor. Stay tuned for plan updates.
